Whether an employer or employee, arrange for your business to invite John Fitzgerald to talk at a breakfast or luncheon meeting of employees or associates. John has a dynamic expertise in identifying intrinsic values, controlling assets, and realising their potential. He conducts workshops which teach these principles and techniques for people to accelerate their own wealth. When giving motivational talks to business groups John will speak without a fee, instead inviting listeners to assist the Toogoolawa Schools Project with regular donations to be matched by the company employing them, all tax-deductible.

Benevolence Group - Freeman Fox Platinum Group

Inspired by the philanthropic example being set by John Fitzgerald, the founder and major benefactor of the Toogoolawa Schools Project, some members of the above Benevolence Group decided to organise a 'raising the barn' weekend for some worthwhile charity.

The concept derives from the Amish Community in USA whose commune members all gather together on one weekend to erect a house or a barn for a family needing a building.

Anne Stanfield, a member of the Benevolence Group, met with Dr Ron and Su Farmer, in early February 2003 to assess whether the Toogoolawa Schools Project was a suitable charity for the Group to assist.

Fortunately for Toogoolawa, the Group selected them and decided that they would aim towards buying a large demountable schoolroom and outfitting it with internal walls and verandah, as well as building covered walkways, kitchen, classroom, toilet and a barbeque and recreation area, in addition to landscaping the area, all of which would be added to the existing Toogoolawa School building at Ormeau which was severely limited in terms of space.

By May, 2003, members of the Freeman Fox Platinum Group in Sydney and Brisbane, had donated over $40,000 towards the project which culminated over the weekend of 23-24 August 2003 with more than one hundred people (including Toogoolawa students, parents and teachers) pooling their talents and energy to bring their vision into reality.

The end result is an ideal learning environment for the Toogoolawa School at Ormeau. Our gratitude towards The Benevolence Group and their generous donors is really beyond what words can adequately express. Their confidence, joy and enthusiasm for the 'raising the barn' project is both infectious and heart-warming.

MathsPOWER "The POWER to Succeed"
We have been blessed with really generous gifts of educational software from Back To The Future. This innovative, switched-on company has raced to the forefront of educational software development and sales. Our Toogoolawa School in Newcastle first heard about 'Back-to-the-Future's' highly effective Maths Power program in a news item reporting that Father O'Reilly's workers were amazed at how keen their hundreds of Sydney 'street kids' were to use it.

A visit to meet the owner Anthony Tamous and his loyal Parramatta team in mid 2002, resulted in the gifting of twelve Maths Power programs (then valued at $400 each) to the two Toogoolawa Schools at Ormeau (Queensland) and Wickham (Newcastle), and a further five to QLD when the first lot were stolen, and another six to the new Toogoolawa school at Hastings in Victoria when it opened in January 2005. Soon after we began using them we found that Maths Power truly does work wonders for our students. Some Toogoolawa students who were unable to repeat even one of the 'times tables', nor add simple numbers, were soon celebrating their 100 percent successes one after the other.

Here we want to say a heartfelt "thank you" to Anthony for his valuable gift, twenty-three Maths Power programs so far.

This donation has paid for the erecting of a much needed fence, which has not only enhanced the look of the school but reduced the incidence of trespass and vandalism to which it had formally been subjected.
